P.J. Kenedy & Sons' annual publication, "The Official Catholic Directory," is a comprehensive resource for locating parishes, dioceses, priests and religious orders for the United States. The directory undergoes updates each year in order to reflect changes in clergy assignments, new appointments, retirements and other occurrences. It includes contact information for all dioceses and archdioceses in the United States, as well as some dioceses in other parts of the world.

In addition to these two resources, many diocesan websites, such as the Diocese of Kansas City-St. Joseph, have their own directories that list and link to diocesan parishes. Visitors can click on the links to consult individual parish websites for clergy information. Some dioceses, such as the Diocese of Norwich, Connecticut, post online a list of all priests and deacons currently active within their jurisdictions. Norwich's directory lists priests in alphabetical order, and provides their individual phone numbers, email contact, parish assignments, parish addresses and positions within their parishes.
