Can I Use My EBT Card in Other States?
Last Updated Apr 6, 2020 8:27:16 AM ET
There are no rules preventing the use of an EBT card across state lines. The electronic benefits transfer card can be used at any food store in the United States that displays the QUEST logo. The QUEST logo is present on the EBT card too.
EBT debit cards work the same way that a traditional ATM debit card works. If the QUEST symbol is not displayed on the point-of-sale or ATM machine, look for signs that display EBT, SNAP or food stamps. Ask a store manager if the signs cannot be found. Most EBT cards can be used in Guam, the U.S. Virgin Islands and the District of Columbia as well.
