People interested in finding reports of UFO sightings can do so by using the online database of the National UFO Reporting Center (NUFORC). The NUFORC lists sightings it receives through its online form or telephone hotline by sighting date, state, shape or date posted.
The top states listed for UFO sightings are California, Florida, Washington, Texas, New York, Arizona, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Michigan and North Carolina. These states also have the highest number of sightings since 1998, according to a report by ABC News.
Other resources available that detail sightings and individual cases and that have maps with locations of recent events include the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) and the UFO Casebook.
Toeing the line between fact and fiction, all of these resources provide detailed information about UFO sightings, dedicating sections of each site to NASA pictures and FBI files. In addition to records of UFO sightings in the past and present, all of the organizations listed have special reports and sections outlining the most famous cases of UFO sightings in history.
The director of the NUFORC, Peter Davenport, holds a weekly radio address dedicated to the week's sightings on the Coast to Coast AM program, as of 2015. He also is widely regarded as an expert in his field and is routinely quoted by credible news agencies.
