A woman cannot get pregnant two days before her period. If she is trying to get pregnant, WebMD advises adjusting efforts to suit individual ovulation cycles.
According to WebMD, a couple needs to have sex every other day during the woman's ovulation period to have a greater chance of conceiving. Ovulation typically occurs on days 11 to 21 when a woman experiences a normal 28-day cycle.
When a woman is ovulating and the egg is ready to receive the sperm, the egg is only viable for about 12 to 24 hours. This is why it's important to increase sexual frequency around the expected ovulation date, as sperm can remain in the body for 3 to 5 days.
