Where Can You Find a DMV Eye Exam Study Guide?

The Department of Motor Vehicles does not offer eye exam study guides, but information regarding the type of vision test can be found on a local DMV’s website. Prospective drivers should keep in mind that the minimum vision requirement is 20/40 to pass.

Typically, DMV’s use a standard wall chart that contains a combination of letters. The tester will stand 20 feet from the chart and will be asked to read the letters. If the test is failed, the person will be directed to a vision specialist and must fill out the Report of Vision Examination, DL 62. The DMV may be contacted for further questions regarding vision testing protocol.
