Last Updated Apr 10, 2020 2:36:26 AM ET
To calculate square meters in a given space, you can measure the number of meters on each side and multiply them. Alternatively, if you know the number of square feet, you can convert that figure into square meters. You may want to use a calculator to do the math involved.
- Measure the area
Using a measuring tape or other instrument with metric markings, measure the length and width of the space in meters.
- Multiply the figures
Multiply the length of the space by the width. The resulting figure is the number of square meters in the space.
- Convert from square feet
If you already know how many square feet are in the space, you can easily determine the number of square meters. Simply take the area in square feet and multiply it by 0.0929. The product is the area in square meters.
