Symptoms of a blood clot that require immediate attention include squeezing pain in the center of the chest; weakness or numbness of the face, arm or leg; and sudden difficulty speaking, according to Mayo Clinic. For a blood clot in an arm or leg, swelling, numbness and pain are symptoms.
Other symptoms that require immediate attention include sudden blurred vision, a fast heartbeat and pain extending from the shoulder into the arm or back, according to Mayo Clinic. Risk factors that increase the chances of getting a blood clot include sitting for long periods of time, obesity and a family history of blood clots.
