In the Bible, certain passages pertain to the "unity of the Spirit" and "unity of the faith" to fulfill the absolute unity of all, which is the "unity in the Body of Christ." The essence of Christianity is to become one with God through His Son, Jesus Christ.
Ephesians 4:1-3 says: "Walk worthily of the calling with which you were called, with all lowliness and humility, with longsuffering, bearing with another in love; being eager to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace." Another reference to "unity" in the book of Ephesians points out "to the building up of the body of Christ; until we all attain to the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God."
