As of 2014, the average construction cost to build a new home in Washington runs between $80 and $200 per square foot. To determine the actual construction cost for a new home in Washington, there are many variables, including the type, style and quality of supplies and location.
A 2,000 square-foot home with total construction costs of $250,000 would run $125 per square foot to build. Adding a gourmet kitchen, upscale bathroom or other high-end features could drive the final cost to $300,000 or more, so that the same 2,000 square-foot house cost at least $150 per-square-foot to build. According to real estate website Trulia, the median sale price for homes in Seattle in July 2014 was $451,000.
