The incredible, or incompetent, Dr. Pol (depending on which camp you’re in) is a mixed-animal veterinarian in rural Michigan, and a new star in the world of reality television.


Dr. Pol works with many 4-H groups and feels every child should grow up with a furry friend. For that reason, he tries to keep pet ownership affordable. With his thick Dutch accent, signature mustache and vintage 1981 “Back to the Future” DeLorean car, Dr. Pol is nothing short of a local legend.


Weidman is an unincorporated community in Isabella County, Michigan, United States. It is a census-designated place (CDP) for statistical purposes, but has no independent municipal authority. The population of the CDP was 959 at the 2010 census , [3] up from 879 at the 2000 census .


In California, we are not allowed to have a radio in our surgery suite, but Dr. Pol has no problem enucleating an eye without proper sterile technique. I'm glad the dog recovered and is doing well, but I hope that the decision by the Court of Appeals does not result in Dr. Pol causing severe harm to an animal in the future.
