Yeah, it's different in Florida. If they forecast a 20% chance of isolated thunderstorms, it means that 20% of the area will get 100% wet from a thunderstorm sometime during the day, and 80% of the area will get 0% wet. Little storms can suddenly pop up anywhere in the area, last less than an hour, and then suddenly disappear.

Looking at the Cancun forecast, it mentions 'isolated' and 'scattered' storms. Most days 30% chance of rain or less. It gets a bit higher in the 10 day forecast, but, never more than 60% chance. Even if it does rain, odds are it will be brief showers/storms. I'm willing to bet you'll get plenty of sun.
