I own a 2008 Tundra with a 5.7L engine and 146K miles on the odometer. The Check Engine light came on the other week. P0019 engine code. Toyota dealership said my timing chain was "stretched" and I need a new timing chain, to the tune of $6700 parts and labor. Odd thing was, the truck was running perfectly. No unusual noises either.

The service manual that came with my vehicle recommends replacing the timing belt at 90,000 miles. It has a note at the bottom of the page though that this is for the 2uz-fe engine only. Apparently that's the 4.7 L, mine is the 5.7 L. I'm not a car guy so didn't really understand the difference between the timing belt and chain and such.
