Spiral ham recipes aren't especially complicated because the ham itself is already cooked. That means the instructions mostly come down to the glaze if you're using one and how you're going to heat the ham without drying it out.


To heat or glaze your Cook's Bone-In Spiral Sliced Ham prior to serving, we recommend the following instructions for best results. IMPORTANT: Don't overheat your ham (unless you prefer it as dry as the Sahara, of course). Cook's Bone-In Spiral Sliced Hams are fully cooked and ready-to-eat, or you may heat them using the following directions.


Most directions for cooking a spiral sliced ham tell you to reheat your ham at 275F and I agree with this method. The reason for this is because you want to heat your ham slowly so that by the time the center of your ham is warm the outside slices aren’t dried out.

Remove all packaging from the spiral ham. If the product your purchased has a packet of seasoning or glaze you need to apply, follow the instructions for use. If your spiral ham is unseasoned, apply seasonings or a glaze to taste, or according to the directions in a chosen recipe.


Spiral sliced hams are delicious cold, but if you want to reheat them, the instructions are on the package. Place the ham cut-side-down on heavy-duty aluminum foil and wrap the ham thoroughly. Or, use an oven roasting bag; follow instructions on the bag for preparation.
