About the program... The Senior Companion Program, part of the Corporation for National & Community Service, is funded in part by the national government and by the local communities of Lane County.. The Senior Companion Program of Lane County improves the quality of life for the citizens of Lane County by providing supportive services and companionship to disabled and isolated adults.


Senior Companions are volunteers 55 and over who provide assistance and friendship to seniors who have difficulty with daily living tasks, such as shopping or paying bills. The program aims to keep seniors independent longer, and provide assistance to family caregivers.


ELIGIBILITY FORM FOR SENIOR COMPANION APPLICANTS . In order to receive a stipend a Senior Companionmust be at least 60 years of age and cannot have an annual income from all sources, after deducting allowable medical expenses, which exceeds the program’s income eligibility guideline for the state in which he or she resides.
