Everyone knows about militarycac, but there is another resource available that can turn your personal computer into a properly configured end node for DOD systems. its called Trusted End Node Security (TENS).

There is a link called CAC Reference Center on the right side of the AKO home page. it gives a great, step-by-step instructions to get your home computer to run your CAC properly. Once everything works, make sure you turn off automatic updates on Internet Explorer.
