Rick Riordan, the best-selling author of the Percy Jackson series, pumps up the action and suspense in The Lost Hero, the first book in The Heroes of Olympus series. Fans of demi-gods, prophesies, and quests will be left breathless--and panting for Book Two.
The Lost Hero is an American fantasy-adventure novel written by Rick Riordan, based on Greek and Roman mythology. It was published on October 12, 2010, and is the first book in The Heroes of Olympus series, a spin-off of the Percy Jackson & the Olympians series. It is preceded by The Last Olympian of Percy Jackson & the Olympians and followed by The Son of Neptune.
The Lost Hero is the only Heroes of Olympus book that Percy Jackson does not appear in, although there are several references to him. In The Lightning Thief, it is mentioned that there are central bathrooms that all of the cabins have to share, but in The Lost Hero, there is a bathroom in the Aphrodite cabin.
In the Lost Hero, Jason (a demigod) finds himself in Camp Half-Blood with no memories and two new demigod friends, Piper and Leo. Around the same time, Percy disappears without a trace. The three friends embark on a quest to rescue a captured Hera and fulfill a new prophecy.
The Lost Hero was a good book to me the way that the character, Jason lost all of his memory but still remembered all of the roman things he learned. Of course he was a roman but he ended up in a Greek camp. Everyone thought I was strange how this kid Percy Jackson vanished and this Jason kid appeared and he was roman!
The Lost Hero. Jason has a problem. He doesn’t remember anything before waking up on a school bus holding hands with a girl. Apparently she’s his girlfriend Piper, his best friend is a kid named Leo, and they’re all students in the Wilderness School, a boarding school for “bad kids.”
Best Answer: The Lost Hero is just as good as Percy Jackson. The main difference is that it's written in 3rd person, instead of 1st, & it keeps changing point of view between the three main characters. (Quick warning: Percy is Not one of the main characters). Hope that helps.
