I've seen prehistoric lions have quite large canines...usually 4 inches on average, but they seem to have reached the bottleneck at 5 inches, and modern lion's canines even rarely exceed 4 inches. Tiger on the other hand can produce plenty of 5 inches specimens, even 6 inches or more is not out of question.
