Japanese movement watches contain watch movements made in Japan. Swiss movement watches contain movements made in Switzerland. That's it. That's the difference. There are rules as to what can be called a Swiss watch- what percentage of parts and assembly must happen in Switzerland for it to bear the name. I'm not sure there are such rules in Japan.
