i just bought a new cell phone and apparently it has bluetooth. my friend put my phone next to hers and we shared some files. (pictures.) now it says "bluetooth enabled" is that all bluetooth does? i thought it was only for a headset or something. please explain this to me. :) (p.s is the headset worth buying?)

Can someone please explain Bluetooth to me. I know it can be used to link cell phones to vehicles, and can be used on iPads similar to using We-Fi. What I'd like is to know if there are any charges involved in using it and if I have to be in a Wi-Fi area or would I have to have cellular coverage on my iPad to use Bluetooth?
