I had my reserves about it when I first stumbled upon this recipe, but I was glad I saved it when I needed a side dish for Glazed Keilbasa. This soup was really good. The taste reminded me of egg drop soup, and the way the cake batter dumplings fell into the soup gave it a rather interesting look.
I am so glad I found this recipe. Hopefully these are the dumplings my dad remembers. I only used flour added an extra egg and only a little bit of water. Mixed it up with my hands to be able to tell when it was ready. I put them in homemade chicken soup after the fluffy dumplings were cooked. Almost done!

Really liked this soup. We commented that it was like chicken pot pie in a soup. First pass the dumplings were compact and dense. A little bit dough-ey. Second time I made them larger and cooked them on low (a lower boil than the previous time) and they turned out great even at the same 20 min time. Thank you for sharing the recipe.

I have a dumpling addiction. My family recipe is to make them like pasta with flour, salt, eggs and a splash of water. I like fluffy dumplings from time to time and have had mixed results with other recipes. These are great! Not super sticky, so you can shape them and dump them later.
