Goat is like venison in that you need to handle it right. Beef is pretty forgiving. It is very lean, unlike lamb, depending on breed. Meat goats have more fat than dairy. Nothing better than a young goat when the meat is handled right, cooked right. Low heat and not over cooked. Toss up, young deer or goat, different taste but so good.

I like goat meat, but to me it doesn't taste like venison, or beef. It has it's own distinct taste, I would say it is most like lamb if you have ever had lamb, but even that is somewhat different. It is a stronger taste than beef but milder than venison. I really like it, but I like a hearty taste to my meat.

I like goat, usually has a good flavour to it. Good tasting burger & roasts. Only once have I had goat meat that wasn't exactly top notch - buddy cooked us up some steaks off an old billy he got. Basically cremated them on the BBQ which didn't help - each bite of steak would damn near triple in size while you chewed it before it finally broke down.
