The Berkshire Museum will remain open until 8 pm as part of Downtown Pittsfield’s Third Thursday street festival. Berkshire County residents are invited to explore the Museum’s galleries from 5 to 8 pm free of charge during this monthly extended-hours event.

We gave ourselves a three hour window to sightsee in the Berkshires before meeting family for dinner. The Berkshire Museum was great, very varied collection, lots of hands-on experiences, not just for children. Very enjoyable two and one half hours.


In the 1950s, the Berkshire Museum was the first to display the work of Norman Rockwell as well as pieces by artists that challenged convention, such as Andy Warhol, Red Grooms, Robert Rauschenberg, Ellsworth Kelly, and Nancy Graves. Berkshire Museum continues to add to the collections through purchase and gift.


this is closed for the year till memorial day holiday weekend, but they do have train rides from north adams and am looking it up now but so far i don't see anything about pets, but it would be best for you to contact the berkshire scenic railway online to ask that question and get an answer. sorry i couldn't be of more help, but i did do all i could to look it up here online.
