Best Answer: Most of the truck engines like the 366 were timed between 4 and 6 degrees BTDC a few were as high as 8. You can try 8 and see if it pings and if it does back it off till it quits pinging. Unless you have done some modifications to the engine and ignition system or put this engine in a car or pickup anything over 8 degrees is going be to much.
