Ford issued three recalls for various 2010 Ford Fusions. The earliest recall occurred in April 2010 and was caused by front seat assembly recliners that failed to comply with vehicle safety standards. The faulty assembly could cause the seat back and head restraint to move rearward during a crash, increasing the potential for injury.
Ford issued an additional recall in May 2010 for the Ford Fusion. This recall involved a fault with the vehicle's automatic transmission; the retention pin on some cars may have not been installed properly, causing unintended movement when the vehicle was parked, leading to a crash. The final 2010 Ford Fusion recall was also issued in May and involves a floor mat that might shift and interfere with the accelerator pedal, increasing the potential for a crash.
