What Are Some Volkswagen Van Models?

Volkswagen manufactures vans under the Transporter, Caddy and Crafter model series. As of 2014, the sixth generation Transporter van, also known as the T6, sells under the Transporter, Multivan, Caravelle and California model variations. The Caddy features four different configurations, as well as a longer Maxi line that provides room for additional seating or storage. Both model lines feature passenger and commercial configurations. The larger Crafter vans configure for various commercial uses.

In addition to passenger and commercial models, the Transporter and Caddy lines include camping vans. The Transporter California includes a kitchenette, elevating roof and sleeping space for four. The Caddy Beach model features a mattress, curtains and optional camping accessory packages. The Caravelle and Multivan variants of the Transporter provide maximum seating space in different configurations.

Variants of the Crafter model include different roof heights, extra interior seats, sliding doors and accessibility packages. The full seating version seats up to nine people, while the delivery van setup includes only two seats.

The original Transporter T1 model, also known as the Type 2 or the VW bus, began production in 1950. The T4 model, manufactured from 1990 to 2003, sold in North America under the Eurovan model name. The T5 model was not sold in the United States.
