In 2007, Volkswagen manufactured a special limited-edition GTI hatchback. It came in only one color, Fahrenheit orange, for which it was named. Only 1,200 were made. Each vehicle's unique limited-edition number was shown on the steering wheel with the special Fahrenheit model badge.
A number of features were standard on the GTI Fahrenheit. European sport-tuned suspension, 18-inch wheels and the 6-speed direct shift gearbox (DSG) transmission offered the driver pep and sporty handling. Heated leather seats, a sunroof and the optional Sirius satellite radio provided comfort and convenience, and orange cabin trim and stitching on the floor mats emphasized the Fahrenheit motif. This version cost $27,665 when new.
