Volkswagen produced a variety of buses, including the Split Screen, the Bay Window and several campers. Many of the most popular models are vintage classics, dating from the late 1940s to the 1970s.
In five generations, Volkswagen created many different styles of its iconic bus. Many are double cab while some are single. Early split-windshield models had modifications subcontracted to Westfalia-Werke; they have the iconic pop-top campers and are fondly referred to as the "Westy." The Deluxe Microbus, or Samba bus, includes skylight windows and a cloth sunroof. Volkswagen buses are available in manual and automatic. The company has announced it will produce electric models in the near future.
