A vehicle's log book is an official document that provides proof that the vehicle is registered. It is also used as evidence that an individual is the legal owner of the vehicle. It contains information such as vehicle registration number and personal data of the person it is registered to.

There are many benefits associated with being an owner of a vehicle's log book. For example, it qualifies an individual for a log book loan. Apart from this, it gives the owner power to resell or lease their vehicle if they want to. When a vehicle is sold, scrapped, exported or even modified, the log book is usually issued afresh with the amended details.
