The 2016 Focus Rallye Sport for the United States is an inline four-cylinder car with a 2.3-liter EcoBoost engine, the same engine as the 2015 Mustang. Ford equips the car with a twin-scroll turbocharger and a larger compressor wheel. The RS delivers 350 horsepower at 6,000 revolutions per minute, redlines at 6,800 revolutions per minute and reaches a top speed of about 165 miles per hour. The German-manufactured Focus RS delivers 350 pound-feet of torque at 3,200 revolutions per minute and up to 347 pound-feet for 15 seconds at a time with its overboost feature.
To enhance efficiency, Ford installs a large intercooler that chills the intake charge of the 2016 Focus RS. The automaker uses an alloy that resists high temperatures to construct the cylinder head and employs high-tensile cast-iron liners for the engine block. The all-wheel drive RS accelerates from zero to 62 miles per hour in about 4.7 seconds, and drivers can raise or lower the intake and exhaust sound levels with electronically controlled valves.Learn more about Car Makes & Models
