Motorcross racing bikes can have a top speed of 125 miles per hour. Bikes manufactured by BMW, KTM and AKW are capable of top speeds over 100 mph.
Other manufacturers of high-speed motorcross bikes include Honda and Kawasaki that create bikes with top speeds just below 90 mph. Bikes typically only reach these speeds in test conditions, as it is nearly impossible to ride this fast on a typical motorcross racing track due to turns and varying terrain. Bike manufacturers must balance speed with bike weight, suspension, handling and engine torque to create a bike with a competitive edge in motorcross racing.
