The 2015 Chevrolet Tahoe is a full-sized SUV based on a truck platform rather than a car platform, as is the case with some crossover SUVs. The standard engine for this vehicle is a 5.3-liter V8 that produces 355 horsepower and 383 foot-pounds of torque. Rear-wheel drive is standard, but four-wheel drive is an option on the Tahoe. The Tahoe gets 18 miles to the gallon in combined driving in both two- and four-wheel drive versions. The Tahoe seats eight in standard configuration, with a ninth seat available as an option in the LS trim.
The 2015 Cadillac Escalade is also a full-size SUV that seats seven. It is based on the same platform as the Tahoe. The Escalade is powered by a 6.2-liter V8 engine that produces 420 horsepower and 460 foot-pounds of torque driving either the rear wheels or all four with optional all-wheel drive. Fuel economy for this SUV is 17 mpg for rear-wheel drive models and 16 for all-wheel drive models. A six-speed automatic transmission was standard in early 2015 Escalades, but was upgraded to an eight-speed automatic mid-year.Learn more about DMV & Records
