As of April 2015, Consumer Reports ranks Michelin as its top overall tire manufacturer. Next on the list are Continental, Goodyear and Pirelli. Their fifth-best tire manufacturer is a four-way tie between Hankook, Cooper, Nokian and Yokohama.
Consumer Reports has individual ratings categories for different types of tires, but felt that these manufacturers are the overall best when considering al factors.
The magazine cites Michelin as having nearly perfect features across the board and likes their generous warranty policy, but feels the price may be too high for some consumers. They cite Continental as having similarly high-ranking tires at a lower price point.
