The Ford F-150 SVT Raptor features a 411-horsepower 6.2-liter V8 engine, six-speed automatic transmission and a full-set of Fox internal bypass shocks with external reservoirs. The SVT Raptor is engineered as a high-performance off-road truck offering a wider stance, 35-inch BFGoodrich all-terrain tires and 11.2 inches of front suspension travel.
The Raptor's V8 engine delivers 434 pounds of torque per foot, handles a 980-pound payload and has a 7,050-pound towing capacity. The Raptor has an exterior width of 86 inches, widening the standard F-150 by 7 inches. The Raptor also adds a thicker-walled solid rear axle, hill descent control and an electronic differential locker. This electronic differential allows the Raptor to achieve high speeds while off-road mode is engaged. The Raptor's off-road mode allows the driver to turn off the anti-lock brake system, roll stability control and traction control for more-aggressive driving situations. As a final departure from the stock F-150, the Raptor replaces Ford's iconic blue grille emblem with "FORD" boldly spelled out across a brick-wall grille.
The SVT Raptor is also available in a 4-door SuperCrew version. The SVT Raptor SuperCrew increases the truck's payload to 1,770 pounds and pushes the towing capacity to 8,000 pounds. The SuperCrew is also equipped with a redesigned center console and high-bolster seating. The 2014 F-150 SVT Raptor starts at $45,000 as of March 2015.
