Styles of Hudson trucks include the Hudson Dover, the Terraplane Big Boy and the Super Six. Dover and Terraplane were official names of Hudson trucks. After 1937, the trucks were simply known as Hudson trucks but given nicknames such as Big Boy or Super Six based on style or construction.
The Dover was the first official truck from Hudson. It was built on the Essex chassis and marketed as a commercial car. The Terraplane Big Boy was a 3/4-ton truck with an airflow, art-deco design including a waterfall grill. The Super Six was similar to the Big Boy in style but had a unique three-speed transmission with a steering column shift and overdrive.
