The 2016 Ford Mustang coupe comes with a choice of three engines. They are a turbocharged four cylinder, a V-6 and a V-8. All models come with a six-speed manual transmission and seat four people.
The four-cylinder engine produces about 310 horsepower at 5,550 revolutions per minute and 320 foot-pounds of torque at 3,000 rpm. The V-6 achieves about 300 horsepower at 6,500 rpm and 280 foot-pounds of torque at 4,000 rpm. The V-8 engine produces 435 horsepower at 6,500 rpm and 400 foot-pounds of torque at 4,250 rpm.
Ford recommends premium unleaded gasoline for the four-cylinder and V-8 models. The four-cylinder engine gets 22 miles per gallon in the city and 31 mpg on the highway. The V-8 model gets about 15 and 25 mpg. The V-6 gets 17 and 28 mpg.
Mustang models with all three engine types have rear-wheel drive, four-wheel independent suspension and front and rear stabilizer bars.
Front head room is 37.6 inches, and front leg room is 44.5 inches. Rear head room is 34.8 inches, and rear leg room 30.6 inches. Shoulder room for front and rear are both more than 50 inches. The car is 15 feet 8.3 inches long, 6 feet 3.4 inches wide and 4 feet 6.4 inches tall. The wheelbase is 8 feet 11.1 inches.
