The only Fiat model offered in North America for the 2015 model year is the 2015 Fiat 500, a small two-door coupe equipped with a 1.4-liter inline-four engine in the base Pop trim. Several variants of the Fiat 500 are also available, including four-door and electric versions.
The base 1.4-liter engine used in the 2015 Fiat 500 Pop produces 97 foot-pounds of torque and 101 horsepower. The more powerful Turbo edition of the car uses a turbocharged version of the same engine producing 135 horsepower, giving it a faster 0 to 60 mph time of 8.1 seconds as compared to the 11.8-second time of the base Pop. The 500 Abarth trim has an even more powerful 160-horsepower version of the turbocharged engine that shaves a second off of its 0 to 60 mph time. All Fiat 500 models are front-wheel drive with standard manual transmissions, though automatic transmissions are optional on many trims. The Fiat 500 is also available as a convertible.
The Fiat 500L is a lengthened version of the 500 powered by a turbocharged inline-four engine producing 160 horsepower. The 500L offers more than double the 9.5 cubic feet of cargo space available in the standard 500, as the longer vehicle has 23 cubic feet of cargo space in addition to much roomier rear seats. However, the additional weight reduces the 500L's 0 to 60 mph time to 9.3 seconds, despite the vehicle having the same amount of horsepower as the 500 Abarth.
