The 2014 Ford F-150 SVT Raptor is designed for maximum speed and off-road performance. Performance features on this vehicle include a 411 horsepower V8 engine, Fox Racing shocks and a long-travel suspension. The 2014 Raptor is available with both standard and four-door SuperCrew cabs.
The Raptor is a product of Ford's Special Vehicle Team, famous for cars such as the Mustang Cobra R and the modern iteration of the Shelby Cobra GT500. The powerful V8 engine in the 2014 Raptor produces 434 foot-pounds of torque from its 6.2-liters of displacement, enough to catapult the heavy full-size pickup to 60 miles per hour in only 7.1 seconds. Gas mileage is poor compared to other pickup trucks, with the Raptor only getting 13 miles per gallon in combined highway and city driving.
In addition to its race-oriented suspension setup, the Raptor features 17-inch wheels fitted with all-terrain tires, resulting in wheels nearly 35 inches wide. Unlike other F-150 trims, the Raptor is only available with four-wheel drive. The F-150 Raptor also omits many of the comfort features available on other F-150 trims, partially to save weight and improve performance. It does come with unique internal and external cosmetic features to discern it from the rest of the F-150 line, including all-aluminium running boards. A six-speed automatic transmission is standard equipment.
