During the drive-thru oil change service at Valvoline, five quarts of oil and a new oil filter are put in and chassis components are lubricated. The technicians also check fluid levels, tire pressure, the air filter, serpentine belt, windshield wipers and lights, as of February 2015.
Fluid levels that are checked include transmission, power steering and windshield wiper. Antifreeze and coolant levels are also checked. Certain fluid levels, such as differential fluids and transfer case fluids, are only checked if the customer requests it. The checks performed may vary depending on the Valvoline location.
Valvoline offers five types of motor oil: synthetic, synthetic blend, conventional, diesel and NextGen. Technicians help you determine which type of oil your vehicle needs. NextGen oil is recycled, with 50 percent of the oil re-refined. The oil still surpasses industry specifications, so it performs just as well as non-recycled motor oils.
Valvoline began in 1986 and has grown to one of the largest quick-lube stations in the United States, with over 800 stores open. In addition to oil changes, Valvoline services transmissions, radiators, gearboxes, air filters, serpentine belts, batteries and air conditioning. Valvoline performs services quickly, some in 20 minutes or less, and customers can stay in their cars for many services.
