The Massachusetts Registry of Motor Vehicles provides residents of Massachusetts with driver's licenses, license renewals, learner's permits, duplication of official driving documents, and state and liquor identification, as of 2015. It also allows residents to register their vehicles, as well as retrieve copies of registration and titles, order license plates and pay citations. Residents who have recently moved to Massachusetts can also update and transfer their driver's license information.
Many services provided by the Massachusetts Registry of Motor Vehicles can be utilized both in person and online. When working with vehicle registration online, the license plate type and number, as well as the registration number, should be available. Enter a credit card number or authorize an E-Check in order to pay the fee to renew an expiring registration.
A driver's license renewal can be obtained online by entering a driver's license number, birth date and full Social Security Number. After paying with a credit card or E-Check, a renewal card is mailed, which can be taken to a spot designated by the Registry of Motor Vehicles in order to have the photograph updated.
Residents who have recently moved can update an address for free online through the Registry of Motor Vehicles. They are required to enter a driver's license or state identification number, birth date, full name and the last four numbers of a Social Security Number to do so.
