Services offered by the Arizona Department of Motor Vehicles, more commonly known as the Arizona Department of Transportation Motor Vehicle Division, include vehicle registration applications, renewals and replacements; vehicle titling and transfer of titles; application, renewal and replacement of drivers licenses; vehicle inspections; and receiving of payments for traffic tickets and other violations. All of these services are offered through the MVD's website at AZDOT.gov as of 2015.
In addition to providing the essential services, the Arizona MVD also offers commercial driving training and licensing; provides driving education and tests prospective drivers; and develops and publishes various safety advisory documents and policies, including documents on school bus safety, traffic safety, teen driver safety and child passenger safety requirements.
The Arizona MVD also collects and publishes various statistics that improve knowledge and awareness both for the state and for the public. These statistics cover the basics, including the number of driver's licenses that are currently valid, the number of vehicles that are currently registered with the state, and the number of license plates that are currently registered. Additionally, it provides statistical analysis of motor vehicle crashes, including their types and descriptions.
The MVD also titles and registers boat trailers. The registration of boats and other watercraft, however, is handled through the Arizona Department of Game and Fish.
