Morgan cars are available in the United States at Morgan West, Isis Imports Ltd. and Hemmings.com, as of 2015. Based in Santa Monica, California, Morgan West offers new and used Morgan cars in Los Angeles and the southern portion of the state. Isis Imports has two locations, in the San Francisco and Sonoma County areas, from which it offers the vehicles. Hemmings.com features private sellers, dealers and auction houses across the country that offer a variety of Morgan models.
In 1909, H.F.S. Morgan built a three-wheeled car with an independent front suspension, which was a first in the automotive world. The vehicle's popularity led Morgan to establish Morgan Motor Company in 1912. As of 2015, Peter and Charles Morgan, the son and grandson of the company founder, lead a workforce of approximately 100 employees who manufacture about 10 cars by hand weekly at the Malvern factory in Worcester, England. Due to changes in the United States' vehicle emission laws, Morgan did not export any cars to the USA from late 1971 to 1976. Engine modifications allowed the exports to resume.
Iconic Morgan models include its car with four wheels and four cylinders, known as the 4/4, which the company introduced in 1936. Other models include the Aero 8, the Plus 8, a roadster and the classic three-wheeler. The Morgan Plus 8 sports car has outperformed BMW's M3 and Porsche's 911 Targa.
