You can sell old or unneeded tires through online specialty classifieds such as Sell My Tires or general classifieds such as Craigslist. You can also use an auction site such as eBay as a digital storefront to sell tires.
To sell tires on the Sell My Tires site, you must create a free account by entering a unique username, valid email address and password. Once an account is created, you can post ads on the site that contain both pictures and a written description of the tires. Each listing can also feature details such as the state, city and ZIP code of the seller, the condition of the tires and the duration for which the ad is to remain on the site. Sellers do not need to publicly list contact information, as the site features an internal messaging system that allows potential buyers to fill out a form that sends an email to the address entered during account creation.
Users do not need to create an account in order to make a post on Craigslist, as of March 2015. Postings must contain the price and the ZIP code of the seller. They can also contain pictures and a text description of the tires.
