Scion cars are made by the Toyota company. Toyota branched out and began making Scions in 2002 and the cars are made in California, as of 2015.
The name "Scion" means "descendant." Toyota decided to make smaller cars in 2002 because the company wanted to build cars geared toward younger drivers. Scion cars are small, powerful and affordable.
Scion builds its cars inexpensively, but includes better options than more expensive models. Today, the company has five models ranging from the tC to the iQ. Scion cars get excellent gas mileage and all Scions come with Scion's Pure Price, which means there is never any haggling over the price of the car. The price listed is the price customers will pay. As another way to appeal to younger drivers, this makes the car-buying process faster and easier.
