What Is the Safety Rating for the Mahindra Jeep?

The Mahindra XUV500 has a 4-star safety rating from the Australasian New Car Assessment Program, or ANCAP. The SUV scored 26 out of 37 on the crash test.

The XUV500 from Mahindra is the second vehicle from Mahindra to receive an Australasian safety rating. It received 10 out of 16 on the frontal offset crash test and was given a default of 16 out of 16 for the side impact component. All SUVs are awarded the top side impact component score.

The Australasian New Car Assessment Program awarded the vehicle a good whiplash protection rating, although the four-star rating applies to any all-wheel drive vehicle manufactured since 2012. Head-protecting side curtains, dual front airbags and side airbags are standard safety features. The presence of electronic stability control, electronic brake distribution and the antilock braking system all contribute to the safety rating.
