As of January 2009, RYOBI Tools offers a limited three-year warranty for all batteries that are purchased. The warranty only covers the original purchaser of the battery, and a proof of purchase is required upon returning a defective battery.
The warranty that RYOBI Tools offers for its batteries covers all defects in workmanship and materials under normal usage. It does not, however, cover "malfunction, defects, and failure due to misuse, abuse, neglect, alteration, moderation or repairs by other than Authorized Service Centers." The process required to return a defective battery includes mailing it to an Authorized Service Center and presenting a proof of purchase or bill of sale. One World Technologies, Inc., the company that owns RYOBI Tools, then decides if any warranty is applicable and will repair or replace the defective battery within 90 days.
