A Royal Enfield motorcycle is a brand of motorcycle produced under the Royal Enfield name, including models like the Continental GT motorcycle. As of 2015, Royal Enfield also produces three other types of motorcycles, which include the Thunderbird, Classic and Bullet models.
The first Royal Enfield motorcycle was produced in 1909, and was fitted with a V-twin Motosacoche engine that had the ability to generate up to 2.25 horsepower. In 1994, Royal Enfield merged with the Eicher Group, one of India's top diversified automotive groups. The company also operates an ISO 9001-certified manufacturing facility located in the city of Chennai, India.
