Barrett-Jackson requires that an owner provide the make, model, year, body style and vehicle identification number for a vehicle before accepting it for auction. In addition, owners must provide interior and exterior color, owner estimated value, engine size, transmission style and a short description of the vehicle, plus other specifics.

The seller of the vehicle provides a copy of the title, a copy of his dealer's license where applicable, any additional documentation regarding the vehicle and five pictures that conform to the instructions provided by Barrett-Jackson. The consignment form also requires the listing of specific aspects and descriptions regarding the condition of and any improvements or restorations made to the vehicle. Reserve and no reserve auctions are available.
