Goodyear.com states that buyers can take their tires for replacement at no charge as of 2016. The site has a box where visitors should enter the DOT number to find out whether their tires qualify for a recall. The site encourages customers to register their tires during purchase to facilitate easy communication whenever there is a recall.
FoxBusiness.com reports that Goodyear recalled about 48,500 SUV tires because they discovered small cracks in the tread while carrying out endurance testing. The site states that the move compelled General Motors to halt the sale of various models such as GMC Acadia, Chevrolet Transverse and Buick Enclave. Fox Business says that owners can visit any Goodyear store or its authorized dealer to replace the tire for free.
SaferCar.gov lets Goodyear tire owners find out whether their tires qualify for a recall or not. Visitors can enter the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) and search for recalls relating to any part of the respective vehicle within the last 15 years.
