What Is the Reno Air Race?

The Reno Air Race is an annual air show with planes and pilots racing, doing stunts and performing acrobatics. The Reno Air Races have been held each year since 1964.

Held just north of Reno, the National Championship Air Races are reported to bring over 150,000 spectators and over $66.5 million into the local economy in the 1 week it is held each year. Planes and pilots in six racing classes attend each year, and in addition to watching the low altitude races, attendees also have the opportunity to view static displays and to watch military flight demonstrations and civil flight exhibitions.
