There are well over two dozen licences offered by Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, and renewal is available online for most types. To renew a license, the license holder goes to the TDLR home site, clicks Online Services and selects TDLR Online License Renewal. The link takes you to a page where you select the license type from a drop-down menu and proceed through the process following the on-screen prompts.
The online renewal tool allows you to pay any fees directly from the website. Payment types accepted include Visa, Mastercard, Discover and American Express. Users must have their current license number and the last four digits of their social security number to utilize the system. Additionally, users need to know which class of license they are applying for or renewing.
Users wishing to renew in person should do so at an official TDLR location, found by selecting the Contact link on the TDLR home page. The TDLR also accepts mail-in applications, and instructions are available on the online renewal page. Links to application and renewal forms appear on the online renewal site for download. Other services available include applying for duplicate licences and changing basic information on a current license.
